Automating Material Master Code Generation in S/4HANA Cloud Based on Material Group

Hello Everyone,

I need assistance with automatically generating Material Master Number in SAP S/4HANA Cloud based on the Material Group.

Here’s what I’m looking to achieve:

• For Raw Materials: The Material Code should start with the prefix "RM" followed by a sequential number (e.g., RM001, RM002).
• For Finished Goods: The Material Code should start with the prefix "FG" followed by a sequential number (e.g., FG001, FG002).

I’ve attached a screenshot of the Material Master screen in S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition for reference.

Any guidance or suggestions on how to implement this would be greatly appreciated!

In S/4HANA CLoud we have no business context / BADI for number assignment .

This would be a feature request ,please follow the KBA (https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2963059 )   if you would like it added in a future release
