Hi,

User is asking to assign the newly creted FA to the existed GL account and for this GL account there are huge no'f postings in Production for three Comp Codes. So this GL account using by three Comp Codes if i change the FA in GL impact will be for three comp codes right so please suggest me solution for it.

Thanks in advance

Actually, it is not possible to change FA when there are transactions already posted.

So, you might need to create a new GL and assign the correct FA and transafer the old GL postings.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I have given the same solution but user is not accepting to create the new GL and asking to change the FA from old to new.

Is it there any way by using Validation or Substitution in this case.

Hi, you can use substitution for one CC,

So while posting FA picks up from GL master data, then overwrites by substitution for one CC

Better if we look at the long term perspective instead of changing it at transaction level.

Convince your user and explain him with risks involved in it.

If not, look for user a substitution, though it is not recommonded.

Thanks
