asset subsequent acquisition depreciation calculation value date is not considering

I have a query on Asset depreciation calculation in our
production system and need your help. Please find below Asset 1000735-09. On
29.02.2012 Acquisition Value  87,656/- added to this asset by AUC 2000509-08
transfer/capitalisation. Consequently depreciation per month of this asset is
increased to  737 per month from  172 till Jan 2012. We follow K4 (Jan – Dec)
Financial accounting period.

Query: when Asset capitalisation/ asset value date is
29.02.2012, why system is considering depreciation for Jan 2012 and adding to
Feb 2012 depreciation  1303 (bal Jan 566 + Feb 737= total 1303). It should
be considered only from Feb 2012 onwards.

Hi

depends on the period control for transfer in this case. Check the period control Transfer for the depreciation key, which is assigned to your asset.

Because once capitalization date and depreciation start date is determined in asset master, you can't change them. Though you change period control also those values can't be changed.
