I´m working on the Asset Manager 2005 implementation.
I need to show equipments, functional locations, notifications and work orders on the map.
Following the documentation it is necessary to populate the table '/ SMFND/ OID01_GS' with the mapping information between SAP and ArcGIS, then, by consuming an ArcGIS web service i can retrieve the location (x,y) to the app of each object required looking for the mapped Object ID in the mentioned table.
This scenario works for fixed location equipments and functional locations. However, for the Work orders and notifications scenario, it doesn´t work, since they can be created at any time at random locations.
For this reason is not feasible to upload the file to pupulate the '/ SMFND/ OID01_GS' table each time we create a new geolocated work order or notification.
It is possible to get a location (x,y) by using an address maintained from the backend? How to do it?
It is possible to retrieve the location data from arcGIS without using the table '/ SMFND/ OID01_GS'.?
Unfortunately, it seems to be taking longer than usual for your question to be answered. You might want to try an alternative route to speed things up.
Please check if a similar question has already been asked in the Community. We have found that sometimes questions that have been answered before are no longer receiving responses.
The easiest way to do this, is to visit the All Questions page and search for your specific topic.
You could also check the SAP Support Portal and search for SAP Notes, SAP Knowledge Base Articles and more.
If all of this doesn’t work, I would suggest that you create a support ticket. All you need to do is log onto the SAP Support Portal with your S-user ID and password: http://service.sap.com/message
