Hi Eric,

You don’t assignee Company code to asset class directly. You create the number range for the main asset no and assignee that no range in the Asset class. In this way you get link to asset class and company code. Asset classes are created at client level. When you create Asset Master Data AS01, you select the asset class under which you asset falls and than you give your company code in the next tab. Open the Transaction AS01 you will understand.

Hi,

The asset class is a logical view of the fixed assets-group of assets with similar characterestics. This is not assigned to a c/code.

An asset is always created with respect to an Asset class and also for a c/code.[ie] onle the Asset is assigned to a c/code.

Hi,

It is not required, Asset classes are defined at client level.

You need not assign to company code level.
