Hi,
My client wanted to keep Assembly process and implement CPM for managing bid estimates to customers, status trends , check list, milestones, creating risk register and change management.
-An Opportunity is created in Sales Force ?
-Create a Master project
-Create & send bid estimate to customer?
-When the bid is accepted , bypass the quotation and create an order from CPM(system will open a new session & takes you to Order master data screen for creation).Ideally , if assembly process is configured , a project must be created when the sales order is saved. Is this a possibility ?
or Do I have to assign the Objects such as order and project manually in CPM workspace ?
Request clarification before answering.
Thank you for the reply Ken.
Yes, we will create an interface to Sales force and inbound some attributes into CPM master project and to Sales order.
I was wondering how cost is captured that incurs before customer accepting the bid since PS project is created when the sales order is created as per assembly process.I am just going out of the box.
For example, engineers may start working and incurs cost when the opportunity still in a proposal/bidding stage(Prior to creating a contract and the probability of winning this opportunity is >50%).We should have a PS project to capture this cost.
On the other hand , assembly process creates a project when the order is created(ideally after winning the bid).
Regards,
Ashley.
