Hi experts,

I am in process of archiving storage locations of few material codes which are split valuated.

Actually material/s are extended to 3-4 storage location and one storage location has to be removed from the same.

i am using transaction code SARA with archiving object MM_MATNR and getting following error -

plant/storage location dependent batch records exist.

please suggest how to correct the error

relevant solution will suitably be rewarded please.

Maybe you have run MM_SPSTOCK in test mode. Check your variants in customizing > technical settings

What did you enter and select in selection screen of MM_SPSTOCK ?

Material and plant i entered and i ensured to remove test mode tick from the same.

I had not spoken about the tick for delete in test mode in the selection screen.

I spoke about the variants for test and production run in customizing to your archiving object.

If the variant that is saved for production run, has the tick for test run, then it just will not work.

Further you should select X Complete for Detail log and list for P_PROT_O,

This way you should get spool file that tells you more about errors or succesfull archived items.

What did you do with the box in from of "Consider batch record without deletion flag" ?

If empty, are you sure you have manually set the deletion indicator in MSC2N?

What about the other boxes in this options section?

Dear Jurgen L

I have ensured that in production mode variant no test mode field is ticked.

i didnt put any restriction in group of fields for batches, becasue batch level deletion has already been ensured at material level.

please let me know where to find that complete X and P_PROT_O to get the detailed logs of errors encountered within the process.

Dear Jurgen

As far as the batches are concerned no material is maintained with batches but split valuated

can u please shed some light on deletion/archiving of valuation type

Pawan

Archiving of "dummy batches" for split valuated material without batch managment activated is as well carried out with MM_SPSTOCK.

Depending on you release you may have to implement a bug fix:

675559 - MM_SPSTOCK: No batches can be found for split valuation

Dear Jurgen

the same has already been taken care of using relevant support pack.

when transaction MSC2N is executed system shows that the material is not handled for the plant in batches.

Pawan

you do not need to use MSC2N for a dummy valuation batch. The user is not entitled to change anything at this batches, they are there for technical reasons.

You have to make sure that you use MM_SPSTOCK in the right way to archive this batches.

What you have to do is:

you have to flag the material master for deletion in MM06.

In case of batch for split valuated material SAP will flag the batch as well for deletion. (MCHA-LVORM = X)

Then you can run MM_SPSTOCK.

For a test run I just entered the material number and plant in selection screen of MM_SPSTOCK and flagged the boxes Batches and Other special stocks.

And SAP was able to archive records from MCHA and MCHB table

you have to run SARA for object MM_SPSTOCK to archive the batch records to this location (records of table MCHB).

Then you can try SARA for MM_MATNR.

Hi Pawan,

If material extended to one storage location it can be deleted by deleting entries in table. But it is not at all suggested as it involvs great risk factor.

I suggest to go for mm06 and flag for deletion that material on storage location level.
