Append a file to material master

Dear Expert :

Our company has this situation we want to add a file to material master data.

or we want to add a hyperlink to material master .Does anyone have any good solutions ? Please let me know .Thanks a lot.

Hello Price,

There are two ways of connecting a material master entry and a document/original:

1) As Ameet says, go to <i>Additional Data --> Document Data</i>, and there you can link the material to any document created through transaction CV01N. The document in the DMS contains the corresponding originals (e.g. a PDF file.) In this way material and document are linked through the <u><b>entire MM chain</b></u>, for instance when creating a bill of materials from the material, or when creating a sales order for the material.

2) You can attach directly an original to the material, through <i>System --> Services for Object --> Create Attachment</i>. Here we are talking about an original (e.g. the named PDF file), and not a "document" in the SAP sense of the word. The original will be attached to the material <u><b>only at the material master</b></u>, and will not follow to e.g. bill of materials.

You can do it with help of DMS (Document management system) & attach the file with Material master in Basic data 2 view.
