alphanumeric number range in material master

dear all,

i want to create an alphanumeric number range for the material master with the following rule:

the first two character is Letters and then we will have 4 numbers and this alphanumeric number in generated automatic

for example :

FG0001 to FG9999

this is the number range and it will increment automatically

lets say if we have material number FG0123 then the next material will be FG0124

For your requirement, you need to go for user exit MGA00002. Check Function Modules EXIT_SAPLMG02_001
