Allowing negative stocks

Hi,

I have defined a new plant (2125) and a storage location to it (0001).  I have performed the steps in OX10 (created plant), OX17 (assigned it to a purchasing org.), OX18 (assigned it to company), OX09 (created storage loc, including address), OVX6 (connected plant to sales org), OVXC (connected shipping points), OVL2 (shipping point determination), OMWD (connected it to a Valuation grp), OMS2 (updated the material types) and updated all relevant values in the tables T001W and T001K.  I have checked and double cheked all values and they are matching the once I have for the plants/storage locations that works.

I then go into OMJ1 and see the plant here.  I can also check of the valuation area for negativ stock and save.  When I highlite the valuation area and click the plant, there is no plant there.  I can click Storage location and enter the plan manually, then I see "Neg.stock" tickoff box.  If I tick it off and try to save, I get a error message saying 'Corresponding entry in "Plant" missing'.

If I check in OMJ5, the new plant is not even visible - only all the old plants.

Can somebody pls help me with this problem? It has frustrated me for 2 days now :-(.

If it's of any importance, I run the Joint Venture for SAP AIO, Oil&Gas and we implemented it 2 years ago

This seems to be an old thread but was missing an solution it seems so thought to post still. For plant to appear in OMJ1, you should add plant in SPRO>IMG>MM>IM>Plant Parameters and then create new entry for your plant & tick allowed negative stocks. This screen is same as OMJ1 so you can now go in OMJ1 & update rest.

Cross check did valuation area is defind as Plant in t.code:OX14 !

Now active negative stock in t.code: OMJ1 and also active negative posting permitted for company code in t.code:OBY6.

Thanks for answer, but sorry - problem still the same.

I have checked all these several times and I already have several plants working with this condition (negativ stock).

I have the same problem as the guy in the tread you refer to, but there is no solution here as far as I can see.  I have double and triple checked OX14 (this setting has of course been unchanged since startup 2 years ago, since it's not possible to change).  OMWD is correctly set too, as well as OBY6.

I have exactly the same problem as your reference tread.  Still get the same message: 'Corresponding entry in "Plant" missing' if I try to tick off the Storage location.

In almost all cases where the plant was not shown in a matchcode or in a list, it had to do with the fact that the address of the plant was not maintained.

you have to maintain the plant address by clicking the envelope button in OX10.

Check if that could be the cause for your issue

Bummer.

I would still focus on the middle part of your screen shot, even it is a green message.

I wonder how you could enter the plant in a grayed field, so that you can continue to the right part of your screen shot.

if you call this screen in the middle for other plants e.g. the older plants , do you then see the plant number ?

I do not see the plant there, but I am not sure of what maintenance dialog to use.  If I look at the one named "NEGATIV", it's the same as application OMJ1 and of course there is no plant here either.

Was that correctly understood, or did I misunderstand you?

What did you think of checking again? OX17?  Have done.....

I never cared about maintenance views (and not about customizing transaction codes) , I do my customizing using the IMG paths

If I know only the table but not the path, then I go to SM30, enter the table name and click Customizing. SAP will then give me all IMG tasks that effect the entered table.

In this case I would start with Assign plant to company code step to check whether the plant is still assigned to the company.

the usage of EC02 is explained in chapter 2.2.4

I have now solved the problem.  It was (of course) a missing parameter in Plant Parameters (T001W).  Found it and maintained it.  Now it's working.  Thank you for all your help.

Hi,

Normally in SAP Valuation Area is Plant only.

In the transaction OX14 you can see whether the Valuation Area is Plant or Company Code.

If its Plant, then in OMJ1 you need to activate negative stock against the valuation area ( which is nothing but the plant) and relevant storage location.

Also when you select the plant by highlighting the val. are you can additionally specify for which special stocks you want to activate Negative stock

Hi, and thanks for q quick answer, but it did not solve my problem.

As you say we have set Valuation Area and Plant to be the same in OX14, but it still does not explain why I don't get any plant in OMJ1 (and the plant is not visible in OMJ5).  It's not even possible toadd "New entry".

When I try to sell from the plant/st.loc. I am not able to do a goods issue.  I get the error message "Deficit of SL Unrestricted-use 1 SM3 : xxxxxxxx" which means that it would not except negativ stock.  I think this has got to do with this:-).
