after oracle upgrade DB is not starting

Hi Gurus,

In the process of up gradation from 4.7 to ECC 6.0, we upgraded oracle 9.2 to 10.2. After successful installation of 10g when trying to start SAP, WP are ended. When trying to start DB from SQL prompt its giving error

ORA-01092: ORACLE instance terminated. Disconnection forced

*This is log file info in alert_dev.log*

ORA-00704: bootstrap process failure

ORA-39700: database must be opened with UPGRADE option

Error 704 happened during db open, shutting down database

Errors in file d:\oracle\dev\saptrace\background\dev_ckpt_3696.trc:

ORA-00704: bootstrap process failure

Any faced same problem, please guide..

HI,

This is the error giving after the starting system which it is giving in the event viewer. This is the service notstarting automatically in the services

Description:

The OracleDEV102iSQL*Plus service failed to start due to the following error:

The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Hi,

have you executed the below command for creating the Service and setting Start mode to Automatic?

ORADIM -NEW -SID SID -INTPWD PASSWORD -MAXUSERS USERS

-STARTMODE AUTO -PFILE ORACLE_HOME\DATABASE\INITSID.ORA

Hi Murali,

Try this

Start SQL*Plus.

Connect to the database instance as a user with SYSDBA privileges.

Start up the instance by issuing the following command:

SQL> STARTUP UPGRADE
