AFO license standard edition & AFO license for Sap Analytics Cloud edition

Hi experts.

Are the license of Analysis for Office (AFO) standard edition included in the license of Analysis for Office (AFO) for Sap Analytics Cloud (SAC)? We have the license for Analysis for Office (AFO) for Sap Analytics Cloud and we want know if it is possible install the AFO standard version.

Hi Luca,

I'll share what I know but I'm not at all a licensing expert. But it does seem that the 2 versions of AO require different Licenses.

The Standard Version of AO comes with the Business Objects Enterprise Suite.

And there is the SAC AO that I believe comes included with any SAC License. These 2 are very close in functionality but there are differences. The SAC AO doesn't include Word or PPT integration, doesn't include Scheduling and doesn't include BW.

However the SAC AO with a current service pack gives you full connectivity to S/4HANA. And the SAC AO can do all the drag and drop and also formula based reporting. There is a blog out there about this which you can probably Google that talks about the Service Pack required for SAC AO for S/4 connectiivty.

I guess the question I have back to you is WHY do you need the Standard Version and why not just use the SAC AO?

I need to connect AO with a Group Reporting Query and I know the path with the AO standard.

Can SAC AO be linked with Group Reporting data?

Yes SAC AO will connect to any S/4HANA CDS view directly if you have Version 2.8 SP9 or higher.
