add drawing as bom item

Hi All,

my client need the drawing as the document item in the bom. and the version od the drawing should be latest. if we select the item (drawing) it should show the drawing in the CAD .

how to do this in sap.

i am new to thid DMS

Hi Raj,

For updating a latest version in BOM you need a development.

There are two ways to do this.

1)

a) Use user exit whenever user creates and saves a new version of documents.

b) Search the bom in table STPO (DOKAR,DOKNR,DOKVR,DOKTL ) where the old version of above document is used and then update this old version with new one.

This is some what crude idea I am suggesting .You can workout the better way to get this done with technical person.

2)

a) Run a scheduled job and get the latset version of documents.

(For this you can use a bapi BAPI_DOCUMENT_GETACTVERSION from here you will get latest version of your documents)

b) Update this version in table STPO

For viewing the document in CAD u need a CAD integration with DMS and CAD on user's desktop.

You can also use ECL viewer where you will open drawings in ECL .This ECL has a basic functionality like redlining,stamping and doesn't req any CAD software.

i need more input for this. we have to see the cad codument while is assign to the BOM.

but we not even create the document for the cad . system not also to add the cad drawing.

sytem thru error " browser off for cad type documetn"

how to resolve this issue.

i am new to this DMS pls explain as much

hi,

Its possible thru DMV (Digital mack up visulisation). You have to do object linking of document with Material master. Once u hv BOM in DMV it shows all the the BOM item with particular drawing which is object linked earlier. The 2D/3D drawing will open thru integrated viewer (ECL viewer).

hi,

1. HOW to do object linking of document with Material master ? - u have to define this DC10 - document type. for particular doc type u have add object link of material master. once u done tht u can attach document to Material master thru object link tab in cv01n / cv02n.
