Activating the approval process leave request

Good afternoon,

I am interested in activating the approval process for requesting leave. However, I am not able to find the approval process or any other information online and in our SAP portal. Can you please point me in the right direction?

Depending on your access rights in the system some tasks could be Administrator related.

But you have to ensure that leave request approval is activated in the scoping of the system.

The approval process is organization and system-wide, you cannot activate just for a team!

Hello Tessa,

You are looking in the right area on the Manager's login, the probable reason why you don't see the notification here because the fine-tuning activity may not be defined!

You should check the following:

1. Business Configuration --> Overview --> Search for Time Types
2. Open the Time Types activity (Time Types - International or Time Types - Country Name, depending on countries scoped in your solution)
3. Click on Maintain Approval Options
4. Looks for the Time Type you are testing and check what Approval Option is defined; if it's blank then Managers won't receive the notification, you should choose the option = Send Notification to Line Manager

After making this change the test a new flow, hopefully it would work!

Final question - can you turn on the Approval message for just 1 team or once you turn it on it will apply for everyone?

Hi Tessa,

Notification are generally found in the Home --> Inbox view or under Home --> My Launchpad --> Open Notification view of the User, but note that these are just a soft information and are not going to hold the requests as pending or in approval.

I see that we also have the notification 'would you like to just send a notification of a leave request to the manager?' on.

However, when I request leave my manager doesn't get any notification. Where should he see this notification message?
