In these disruptive times, the possibility of virtual exchange and online collaboration is extremely important. Therefore, I am proud to announce the launch of the new SAP S/4HANA, extended edition Community today.

We have extended our SAP S/4HANA Customer Community landscape so that it fits perfectly to our product strategy. Besides the existing SAP S/4HANA Cloud Customer Community for SAP S/4HANA Cloud, essentials customers and the recently launched SAP S/4HANA Community for on premise  customers, this new community was created for you, our customers and partners, currently embracing a journey to the Cloud, using SAP S/4HANA Cloud, extended edition.

We created this community to help you find product information, get answers to product questions, and network with other members, including fellow SAP Customers, SAP Partners and SAP Employees. However, we want you to use it as your own space, to truly be able to interact and find people with common interests to help you onboard and run S/4HANA Cloud, extended edition.

We intend to moderate the topics the community deems important and drive knowledge on areas the community asks us about. In addition, the new community focuses on best practices, SAP Model Company for Enterprise Management Layer, the golden rules for implementing SAP S/4HANA, extended edition with a cloud mindset and provides different enablement content.

However, in the end, this space is intended for you and we look forward to addressing some of your most pressing needs. So please participate and we look forward to interacting with you in the community!

Now that you know of the goals of our community, I would also like to take this opportunity to provide you an update on SAP S/4HANA Cloud, extended edition.

Our team has been working extremely hard to enhance the business content embedded in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, extended edition, and to accelerate the overall time to value by enhancing many aspects to improve your onboarding experience.

For starters, with the new April 2020 SAP S/4HANA Cloud, extended edition contracts, we provide additional value to our customers by offering the new enterprise management layer for SAP S/4HANA Cloud, extended edition as part of the subscription. The enterprise management layer for SAP S/4HANA Cloud, extended edition is a fully pre-activated set of best practices covering 42 countries, which provides the necessary international financial structure (defined Group Corporation with Group Currency, Group Leading Accounting Principle, Fiscal Year Variant  and  local countries with 2 parallel ledgers using the local Accounting Principle, etc.) to quickly jump-start an international implementation using the power of pre-configuration.

This powerful template is fully loaded with all processes ranging from Finance, Order to Cash, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, etc. out of the box.

Contracts initiated before April 2020 can also benefit from this content. We recommend that you contact your SAP Account Executive so that he or she can provide you with additional information on how you can get access to this powerful business content.

With the April update, we offer our customers a choice to enhance their SAP Support experience with the availability of SAP Preferred Success in S/4HANA Cloud, extended edition, following the great feedback we received from customers of our essentials edition product.  SAP Preferred Success provides exclusive access to resources that enable you to achieve optimal adoption of your cloud solutions. Our success model helps you accelerate time to value with your cloud solution, leading to faster business results and putting your company on its way to becoming an intelligent enterprise.

We also want to provide further clarity on the upgrade process. With the April update we are looking for our customers to drive a technical upgrade with the flexible schedule of two upgrades per year (maximum), or, if they prefer, and more time is needed, customers will have a choice to execute an upgrade every two years. This way, SAP can help customers execute their technical upgrade so that they can always benefit from all innovations included in the latest SAP releases. Of course, SAP will work with you on defining this upgrade plan. Remember, the true value of new practices comes with the innovations offered in the latest releases of SAP software.

We have also released additional guidance when it comes to customers implementing SAP S/4HANA Cloud, extended edition. We have enhanced the SAP Activate methodology and the five Golden Rules to guide customers’ implementation using a cloud mindset, based on the feedback from other customers, to provide clear and comprehensive deliverables that we expect to help accelerate onboarding and time to value.  To this end, we heard loud and clear that customers needed more guidance when it comes to SAP S/4HANA Cloud, extended edition. We have built additional content to help provide information and clear guidance to customers needing to apply specific extensibility techniques to cover special complex business requirements.
