It’s that time again to report out to everyone the new features and enhancements we have added for
Employee Central!
Employee Central Payroll Time Sheet
Employees can record, submit and even edit their time sheets in the Payroll Time Sheet. Employees can immediately see the results of time valuations, including overtime calculations. Payroll systems can grab the data and pay employees based on the recorded time.
The system will calculate hours worked and will determine overtime based on configured rules regarding overtime pay per day or week. Based on the times recorded, the system performs a daily or weekly overtime calculation according to configurable business rules and generates pay components.
Variable overtime thresholds are allowed in this feature as well. For example, overtime is recorded as 1.0 for the first two hours and then is bumped up to 1.5 for each additional hour afterwards per day or per week. An optional approval for the time sheet is provided. The pay components are stored in APIs so that Payroll providers can read the data and pay the employee according to the recorded hours.

Position Management
Position Management is a foundation for supporting a company’s organizational planning and management. With Position Management, organizations can design an ideal organization structure based on a hierarchy of positions. This ideal organization structure can determine what resources are needed and from where in the organization. Position Management can also be a repository of historical information where managers can keep records of incumbents that have historically filled a particular position. This type of information is invaluable support for analysis of succession data, development of requisitions and job profiles. It’s high time I praised this amazing feature of Employee Central and expect more to come in upcoming blogs!
In this release, we expanded capabilities to support shared positions and mass positions. We also added some automation to position types making it easier to quickly move an existing successor to a supervisor position should a vacancy occur based on feedback from customers.
