In an era when instant gratification is not soon enough, the expectations of the average consumer is requiring businesses to keep pace by moving at a mind boggling pace.

By example, when my brand new smart phone arrives by overnight express the day after I order it, I want to take it out of the box and be able to use it right away. I want my apps to synch, my contacts and photos to transfer and I want to be able to set it up whenever I’m ready, day or night. While behind the scenes the process is quite complex, as a consumer I don’t care, I just it want it to happen fast and to work the very first time so I can move on and continue being productive. I don’t want the setup of technology to hold me back.

In the world of IT, Enterprise software is orders of magnitude more complex than the setup of a personal smart phone, but we, as consumers and users are starting to expect a similar experience –simpler, faster and a seamless integration.  SAP  looked further into addressing this conflicting technology paradox by which traditional IT departments have to be ready to move quickly, but first slow down to install new technology.

SAP S/4HANA, SAP’s next-generation business suite is designed to help you run simple in the digital economy, and is something we are extremely proud of. This new suite is built on our advanced in-memory platform, SAP HANA, and offers a personalized user experience with SAP Fiori. SAP wanted to ensure that the path we offered to S/4HANA came with technology and business content, tools, and methods to accelerate your implementation could be offered as a simple, fast and seamless deployment.

SAP Activate is the answer to this paradox.  It is our new three part implementation framework that includes SAP’s proven Best Practices, a new Guided Configuration too, both which arrives with the SAP S/4HANA product, and our new agile based methodology.

SAP Activate is a framework that assists in a faster implementation of S/4HANA with clear guidance, automated updates, and easy to use tools for continuous innovation. Expedite value with the delivery of ready-to-run business processes for S/4HANA based on SAP Best Practices adapted for S/4HANA in an approach that utilizes SAP best practices, methodology, and the guided configuration.

You can expect clear guidance around integration and migration to be able to hit the ground running when it comes to deployment and be able to avoid wasting time on building routine processes because we have predefined process examples setup for you to adjust according to your company’s situation, leaving your team more time to focus on innovating.

Automated Updates based on SAP Best Practices for Uninterrupted Innovation – Guided Configuration – New!

With SAP’s new Guided Configuration, customers will be able to prioritize both their content lifecycle management system and innovations with SAP S/4HANA without disruption.  The new Guided Configuration gives you an overview of available best practices in your system. Now you can configure, test and migrate best practices with the option to add or update SAP Best Practices at a later time. Customers can expect an assisted guide from initial setup through launch, plus automated updates and innovation provided thereafter so you stay continuously up-to-date with minimal disruption.

Next Generation, Agile-Based Methodology – SAP Activate – New!

SAP has also recognized that the time is right to introduce a new implementation methodology to support a more consistent and scalable approach for any deployment type—cloud, on premise and hybrid including mobile.  SAP Activate Methodology builds on the proven approaches that SAP customers and SAP Partners have used through the years, including the use of best practices, fit/gap instead of full fledged blueprinting and iterative incremental build of the solution. The methodology is aligned with the Project Management Institute (PMI) standards for project management, making it easier to minimize risk, streamline and accelerate your implementation project and reduce your total cost of implementation through the utilization of pre-defined work breakdown structure, project accelerators and templates.
