Welcome to part 4 of this blog series that covers the custom report consumption. To understand the different balance types and standard reports as well as standard API please look into the first two blog of this series.
In this blog we explain the possibilities to consume your custom balance reports in:
Every custom query can be consumed via a generic Fiori UI. You can define a separate tile for it in the SAP Fiori Launchpad. Here you have two options.
Option 1: Local Tile
For the local tile you call the app ‘Custom Analytical Queries’ and go to the details of your defined query. Here you click on ‘Preview’.

You fill the selection parameter and trigger the selection. Now you can save the report as a separate tile via ‘Save as Tile’.

You can provide a title, subtitle and assign it to a group.

The tile is then available in the group ‘My Home’.

Option 2: Custom Tile
If the tile should be available for other users as well, you can use the app ‘Custom Tile’. First you copy the link from the query preview of the app ‘Custom Analytical Queries’. Then you open the app ‘Custom Tiles’. You maintain a tile title and enter the URL that was copied from the preview. As URL parameter you enter the query name and the system alias.

You can already preview the result by clicking on the tile. With ‘Assign Catalogs’ button you can assign it to an existing catalog and publish the tile.

The tile is then available in the corresponding business catalog.

Every custom query can also be consumed in Microsoft Excel. Therefor you can either use SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office or you can download the result of the generic Fiori app into Microsoft Excel.

Custom CDS views can also be consumed with OData. All you need to do is to check the flag ‘External API’

You can then activate the OData service with the app ‘Custom Communication Scenarios’ by creating a scenario ID, adding the CDS View and publishing the service.

You can then use the OData service in SAP Analytics Cloud, other Fiori Apps or consumer.

Consumption via SAP Fiori Launchpad
