The production world is very fascinating and complicated. One of the common challenges is orchestrating many dependencies: components, quantities, sequence of stages, timeline, etc. When creating a production order containing multiple route stages, there might be cases where timeline of one route stage should be adjusted and subsequent route stages are affected accordingly. If the “Routing Date Calculation” in the production order is set to either “Start Date Forwards” or “End Date Backwards” SAP Business One allows you to adjust the dates of a specific route stage and apply the change to the subsequent route stages:

Mark the route stage from which the change in dates should apply and choose the following option from the context menu: “Recalculate Route Stages Dates”. If the “Routing Date Calculation” field is set to “Start Date Forwards” the dates of the highlighted route stage and the ones that follow will be recalculated accordingly. If the “Routing Date Calculation” field is set to “End Date Backwards” the dates of the highlighted route stage and the previous ones are recalculated accordingly.

Available in SAP Business One 9.3, version for SAP HANA and SAP Business One 9.3. This tip and all the other tips are available on the Tip of the week community page. You can also visit the Implementation Arena for useful implementation tips.
