The
SAP Customer Engagement Initiative (CEI) connects SAP development teams with our customers and partners early and regularly. This means you can work hand-in-hand with SAP development teams on projects and prototypes, helping us to consider your specific requirement based on your feedback. The initiative fosters and enables close interaction between SAP and our customers and partners by providing a structured approach and a
legal framework.
The SAP Customer Engagement Initiative gives you early insights and shares product concepts so that you can help shape the future releases of tomorrow’s innovations. It’s a win-win situation.
One of the many CEI projects about the topic
“Predictive MRP” was just finished by the team. We would like to share the highlights of the project here with you:
Project goal
The project aimed to involve customers and partners in designing the new SAP S/4HANA Cloud Predictive Material and Resource Planning application (pMRP). To receive a better understanding of requirements (e.g. interactive planning), simulations, feedback calls and extensive user research visits were conducted. Later, mockups were shared in interactive sessions and valuable feedback was incorporated into the user interface design.
Major activities
- Feedback Calls
- Onsite Visits
Key achievements
Based on the findings of the user research and customer feedback sessions, two new Fiori apps have been designed and developed:
- Schedule pMRP Simulation Creation: With this app, the creation of pMRP simulations is scheduled. For this, the system creates simplified data based on forecasted product demand and master data for material- and resource-planning. This data is used as reference data in pMRP.
- Process pMRP Simulations: With this app, pMRP simulations can be processed, copied and deleted. The impact of simulated changes with regards to the available capacity and top-level demand can be assessed. Informed decisions for the production planning can be taken. To enable the comparison of simulations, the number of capacity issues and a KPI delivery performance are calculated and kept up to date. Finally, the resulting component demand can be released to operational data as planned independent requirements.
Shipment
With SAP S/4HANA 1905, the new predictive MRP will be delivered as a first release in the Cloud. In subsequent releases, further enhancements are planned. In SAP S/4HANA 1909, predictive MRP will be provided to on Premise customers.
Feel free to register to the upcoming
Cloud ERP User
Feedback Summit, there you will have the opportunity to see Predictive MRP demos and to join one of the Usability Feedback Sessions.
