With the SAP EPD May 2023 release out, I’m happy to announce that there are new features for Specification Management that you may be interested in.

Multiple-property tree support in specifications

The property tree and specification type assignment has been changed a bit. We now support assigning multiple property trees to specification types. Because of this, the assignment happens in the Specification Types app.

Authorization context

With this app, you can control which specifications are visible to which users or user groups. You can now fine-tune how users access specifications by setting different authorization levels, for example create, read, update, delete, or create new versions.

Property validity

You can now configure the validity of properties by adding country, region, or plant-related information to them. You can then edit property validities in the Manage Specifications app.

Importing phrases and phrase collections

With a click or two, you can now upload phrases and phrase collections easily using our import functionality. First you download the template, you populate it with data, then upload, and your phrases are ready to use.

Adding multiple properties to a tree

Instead of adding one by one, now you have the possibility to add multiple properties at once to a node in the Property Trees app.

How the composition apps are related

We’ve also created a video for you to have a better understanding on how the composition apps are related. We explain the business background and the suggested way of using these apps. Here it is:
