Management accounting consists of many important layers and dimension to effectively analyze and manage your company’s costs. And the heart of management accounting is certainly overhead cost controlling. To highlight all important foundational concepts of overhead cost controlling in SAP S/4HANA, we have published a new learning journey on the SAP Learning website: Performing Overhead Cost Controlling​ in SAP S/4HANA. The aim of this learning journey is to give you the foundational knowledge and make you familiar with all important concepts of Overhead Cost Controlling in SAP S/4HANA. 

This learning journey will guide you through 2 main pillars of overhead cost controlling – namely Cost Center Accounting and Project Controlling. Starting with with the basics, you will get a first glimpse on the foundations and architecture of management accounting, costs centers and simple projects.

Continuing with Cost Center Accounting, you will discover how to plan your costs and how to report on them. What is an event-based actual costing and in what way is management accounting connected to financial accounting. Not to forget, you will also discover important period-end closing activities such as allocating costs connected with your cost centers. 


 

When talking about Project Controlling, you will discover how to smartly organize your costs based on projects. Here you will also learn about project planning and budgeting, analytics, event-based actual posting and also necessary period-end closing activities.
