Brexit or Brex-IT??  Time to act!

Living with Brexit:The Road Aheadis a new series of blog posts which will examine the outcome of the deal and its implications and support from SAP.

On December 24, 2020 the UK and EU announced an agreement for a Trade Deal which will govern the economic and trading relationship after the end of the transition period on December 31, 2020. Details can be found here: https://ec.europa.eu/info/sites/info/files/eu-uk_trade_and_cooperation_agreement-a_new_relationship_...

Brexit or "British exit" stands for the withdrawal of the UK from the European Union after 47 years of membership. Among other things, this impacts all business transactions a company has between the EU and GB and/or Northern Ireland.

Already 2 years ago, SAP had set up an internal workforce and started monitoring the development of Brexit towards and beyond the transition period.

SAP Globalization Services have been analyzing the impact for our customers in their SAP solutions, but also exchanging with our external stakeholders through the SAP User Groups and our Partner Ecosystem. SAP has prepared several resources to accompany their customers, SAP notes that contain updates regarding changes in coding, configuration guidelines but also a recommendation SAP note to check and prepare your specific business process.

The BREXIT central note is number 2885225 (accessible with S-User). You can find a link within the Legal Change Notification, or use this link https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2885225

To stay up to date regarding the topic, we strongly recommend to monitor the central note regularly as this remains the central point of information for all Brexit related topics. You can also activate system alerts to get notifications, when updates are available.

Furthermore, you can find registered (and future) webinars with DSAG where our product experts share their insights about the impacted areas with the following:

Guidelines from Finance perspective
Guidelines from Sales perspective
Guidelines for GTS

SAP is committed to continuing the legal monitoring and the delivery of further updates on Brexit.

In conclusion, Brexit will mandate some change to your processes. This must be reflected within your SAP system. Hope you found this blog post helpful

Remember to check back regularly for the next in our Blog series on Brexit and your SAP system.
