My Experience
This year, I had the opportunity to attend the HERUG Conference scheduled in TU Berlin, Germany, between 15th and 17th of May 2019. The theme of the 3-day conference was
Mastering Our Digital Transformation. It was a memorable experience where I had the good fortune to meet some of our SAP SLCM Customers and hold both informal and formal discussions. I had the occasion to stand in the shoes of our customers and gain perspective of what’s running through their minds which incidentally is our priority when it comes to customer support. They had so much information to share which also covered future challenges and expectations in business integration scenarios where our applications was found inadequate or wanting. I genuinely felt proud of our SAP SLCM on the topic of higher education.
The conference kicked off with a Key Note from Prof. Dr. Christian Thomsen, who gave the participants an insight into objective of the conference and shared his experience of digitalization in the German Capital. The Conference Chairman, Michael Wilmes, introduced the program and gave an overview of the main focuses and topics that would be covered during the course of the conference.
Mark Arts and Wim Cochet from SAP partner Itelligence presented a walk-through application on the importance of upgrading SLCM to S/4 HANA. This was one of the rare instances where the partner was able to demonstrate a value-added service on top of the application.
In
Meet the Expert session on Future of Org. Management, Jens-Christoph Nolte elucidated on Responsibility Management in S/4 HANA and integration with Workflow.
KEY TAKE-AWAYS
Integration with Success Factors
SLCM customers have been pursuing SAP from various channels of Product Management to accommodate Success Factors Employee Central (SFEC) topic as the application was already using SAP HCM data. There’s a strong indication of a conceivable integration of SAP SFEC to SAP HCM. Customers have evinced a keen interest in SLCM to OM in SFEC.
Integration with Qualtrics
Rob Jonkers and Kathrin Lion illustrated
Campus Experience Matters - Qualtrics for Higher Ed. and elucidated on how customers can benefit by combining operational data and experience data to shape breakthrough experiences and results. With the help of Customer Connect, we are examining the connecting points from SLCM and Qualtrics in the area of Course and Instructor.
The three-day conference gave a deep insight on:
- how we can view the application from customers’ lens, and their pain points in Higher Education Vertical;
- how to leverage the gaps where an application cannot meet; and
- how to fill them (gaps) by routing with other integrations points to meet the business objectives.
Qualtrics assists universities in enhancing student, campus, faculty, and alumni experience, besides, identifying and addressing root causes of crucial outcomes, taking action to improve applicant experience, graduation rates, and alumni offering.
