From the 5th to 12th of July another successful # Hack2Build on the topic of SAP S/4HANA Cloud side-by-side extensions took place. An event focusing on the SAP Business Technology Platform, which is the foundation for intelligent companies. Extensions enable partners to offer their customers innovative solutions beyond the SAP standard. Partners from the EMEA South and MEE regions were invited and selected for this event.
The Hack2Build is primarily about developing an «MVP», a Minimal Viable Product, which is underlined by customer benefits.
In addition to continuous technical support and coaching by the SAP Co-Innovation Lab (COIL) team, the Partner Readiness team will support the partners with their business and go-to-market expertise.

EMEA South winner - TechEdge S.p.A.
The customers that frequently re-order need a quick, easy and smart tool to do this. On the other side the process must be integrated, strong and managed by internal users (Buyers) with the unique access point.
Our solution combines the daily-life technology (such as Telegram, web FIORI app) and allows the customer to made orders easily and directly from the application. The solution is based on the most innovative technologies on the market such as: the Event Mesh, the custom Workflow and S4HANA Cloud which allow the company, through configurable and automated choices, to be able to approve and control the business requests.
The product approach the customers and with the automation permits saving time and money. Furthermore, with the chatbot and cloud technology, the solution is completely scalable.
MEE winner – T-Systems International GmbH
Our solution is a fully SAP based single point of entry terminal for retail stores to increase customers experience by providing product related information using natural language processing and machine-learning-based image recognition. From a source system like S/4 HANA, it provides consumers with product information and in-store location of a product.
Possible extensions are product tutorials or how-to-videos, similar/fitting/also-need products and the option for home delivery. The entry point is a customized SAP Conversational AI (CAI) chat on the store webpage, where CAI handles natural language input while a Tensorflow instance extends CAI abilities and provides an input to process image uploads.
Runners Up – Avarto Systems GmbH
The processing of invoices in the procure2pay process often is complex, non-transparent, inconsistent and slow. Employees tend to spend a lot of time with the process and there is always the risk of losing reputation by not meeting the payment goals. S.I.M.S. the current solution from Arvato Systems helps companies to improve their invoice inbound process by making it transparent and automated.
The current solution is based on ABAP Workflow and requires transport and customization into customers SAP Systems. Unfortunately, this is not possible with SAP S/4HANA Cloud systems. Therefore, we redesigned the solution from scratch using SAP Workflow Management in the BTP. S.I.M.S. 2.0, as the new solution is called, provides a standard workflow and a dashboard for processing inbound invoices.
The workflow contains the task for accounts and approver to check the incoming data and invoice documents, approve the invoice, post it to the SAP System and attach the invoice document to the posting in the SAP system. If needed it is also possible to match the corresponding purchase order to the invoice. For the workflow we developed a custom user task as a Fiori app to display the invoice document and to show all needed information. There for S.I.M.S. 2.0 can be used from all type of devises.
The main target for the new solution S.I.M.S. 2.0 is to be compatible with S/4HANA Cloud and the on-premise versions of S/4HANA. Therefore S.I.M.S. 2.0 is connected to the SAP System via ODATA Webservice and all used webservices are provided by SAP.
The Tasters
