SAP today announced general availability of version 2.0 of its SAP RealSpend solution.
SAP RealSpend provides real-time budget and discretionary spend information anywhere, anytime. You can manage your budget effectively, spend strategically, and identify expense issues quickly.
Data from ERP CO's Cost Center Accounting and Internal Order modules is rendered on the iPad through graphical means like heat maps and bar charts rather than common ERP- or BW-based desktop reporting. And gestures allow for easy and quick navigation replacing mouse movements we are used to from traditional desktop environments. You can get answers without starting your PC, login to your company network, login in to SAP, executing a report .. several reports. You can make decisions or identify follow-up activities right away, at the tip of your fingers.
The (iPad front-end) of the solution connects directly with the on-premise ERP backend (ECC 6.0 minimum) and can be implemented with - or without SUP - in a matter of days.
Flexibility on SUP is really important as it allows a path for both, organizations with stringent mobile infrastructure requirements as well as for companies that do not need that or or just want to get their (mobile) feet wet.
