This blog post is part of a series called “Tip of the Week”.
There are so many advantages in the ability to duplicate records - no wonder it is widely used. It saves efforts, time, and helps reducing human errors. In SAP Business One you can duplicate documents and master data records. In the duplicate instance you can make the required changes, choose the "Add" button and… done! Of course, in each type of document or master data there might be specific use-cases or best practice. Take for example the Item Master Data. If you duplicate Item to which bar codes are assigned, these bar codes are duplicated as well and assigned to the duplicated item. A new option in the "General Settings" window enables you to choose whether to duplicate the bar codes or not, based on your business needs:
This checkbox is selected by default. To prevent duplicating the bar codes, deselect the checkbox.
Available in SAP Business One 10.0 FP 2008 and SAP Business One 10.0 FP 2008, version for SAP HANA.
