SAP Business One provides batch update tools to generate, change, and delete blocks of bin location codes.
Depending on the required warehouse structure it can sometimes be more efficient to generate a large multi-dimensional cube of bin locations in one go and then delete a subset of them – rather than to generate many smaller subsets of bin locations without using the delete tool.
For example a warehouse that has five zones, each zone having 10 areas, each area having 10 rows and the first five rows having 10 shelves and the last five rows having only five shelves.
In this example, it will be more efficient to first use a single bin location generation action to create all combinations of five zones, 10 areas, 10 rows and 10 shelves as follows:
Following this single generation, it will then be a simple task to delete those bin locations which are not relevant. In this case deletion would be required for shelves S06-S10 for each of R06-R10 as follows:
