This blog post is part of a series called “Tip of the Week”.

Processes are the backbone of businesses. It can be a simple process consisting of few stages or a very complicated one involving sub processes and multiple steps. Either way, we continuously try to improve them. One of the common processes used in SAP Business One is copying base documents to target documents. As part of this process, the content of the Remarks field is copied to the target document with an addition: the doc number or BP reference number of the base document.

For those of you who prefer to copy only the manually entered remarks, SAP Business One introduces a new setting:

This way, the Remarks field in the target document includes only the manual remarks entered in the base document, and if you want to find the base document you can always use the option "Base Document" in the context menu or toolbar.

Available in SAP Business One 10.0 FP 2008 and SAP Business One 10.0 FP 2008, version for SAP HANA.

I hope you found this information helpful and as always, I’m looking forward to your feedback in the comments section below.
