Assign Document Numbers Manually

Automation is great! It saves time and effort, it increases efficiency, it prevents human errors and much more. Automation is integrated so deeply in business processes that sometimes we are not aware of it. Take document numbering for example - when creating documents the document number is automatically assigned according to the default numbering series. But, occasionally different numbering is required (e.g. for recording documents originated in paper) - for such cases, SAP Business One enables you to assign document number manually. Just choose the option “Manual” in the numbering series field, and assign the required number:



Note that similar to other numbering series, when assigning manual number, SAP Business One validates that document of the same type with same number has not been created yet.
