Introduction
SAP Enterprise Architecture Designer, Edition for SAP HANA (SAP EA Designer) lets you capture, analyze, and present your organization's landscapes, strategies, requirements, processes, data, and other artifacts in a shared environment.
EAD supports creation and edition of business process model.It also helps in importing processes from solution Manager 7.2,Helps in analyzing the physical structure of your database.
Pre-requisites for the Installation
XSA components should be installed
XSA user should have below roles:
- XS_CONTROLLER_ADMIN
- XS_AUTHORIZATION_ADMIN
- XS_USER_ADMIN
Installation steps:
1.Download the media from service market place,
SAP EA DESIGNER FOR SAP HANA Maintenance Product SAP EA DESIGN FOR SAP HANA 1.0COMPRISED SOFTWARE COMPONENT VERSIONSSAP EA DESIGN FOR SAP HANA 1.0.
2.verify you XSA components availability from HANA studio:
3.login to XSA ,url https://<HOST>:5XX23(default port) host /port would vary depending upon your landscape, make sure you have all the required XSA roles assigned.
Below is the admin page for XSA, click on product installer ui from the right side option.
4.Click on install/update and browse for the EAD media downloaded from support portal.
5.click on start installation
6.It will start validating, then the deployment would take place and finally the registration of the components.
6.After the installation, a new application with new port assigned for EAD would be available for use.
7.In order to access EAD .EAD specific role collection is required. Follow the below steps to create and assign roles to the user for access:
Login to XSA admin, navigate to security->role collection
Click on new role collection and create a new one with below details:
select the above Identifier,template and Role from the drop down available,save it and now you can see the role in role collections.
Assign it to the end user who will be using EAD.
Provide the EAD URL and XSA user details created above to the end user, they would get below login page.
user should logon with XSA user and get into the home page of EAD.
Above is the home page user would get once logged in and start working on it, explore the options available for modeling.
