In SAP Business One by default we have Relationship Map, which is a pretty nice tool in researching the way a document has been handled in the regular business process inside SAP B1 when End Users use the “Copy To” and the “Copy From” functions. The Users must use the “Copy To” or “Copy From” for SAP B1 to display the Relationship Map – that is the only way the standard “connection” is made.
Sometimes, you may need to create relationships between the Marketing Docs and other doc types, like; Journal Entries, JVs, Landed Costs, … how we could create such a relationship, and have it represented when we fetch the relationship map in the marketing docs?
We can achieve such a relationship by using the
Referenced Document feature in the marketing docs, any marketing doc > Accounting tab,
As of SAP Business One 9.3 PL10 the Referenced Document feature is available in the following docs;
The Referenced Document feature contains the ability to connect with the following docs,
After choosing the documents that you want to add as a reference, right-click on the marketing doc > Relationship map,
Then from the drop-down list in the relationship map window, chose: Marketing Document: References Documents,
And you can see now the relationship map for the referenced documents, as showing below;
You can get back later to the see the referenced docs for a marketing document with one of the following two-ways;
- Right-click > Relationship Map > from the drop-down menu > Marketing Document: Referenced Documents,
- Open the Marketing doc > Accounting tab > Referenced Documents,
For the marketing documents that being used as a reference, when opening the Referenced Information from the Accounting tab, we can see from the “Document Referenced By” tab, where this document being used as a reference,
Hope this helps,
