Introduction & overview

I am sure a few people have many times wondered about this topic. How can I delimit a position or an OM objects. Do I need to just delimit info type 1000, what about info type 1001 or 1008, etc., with this standard delivered SAP program, this answer it all!

You can use a standard delivered SAP program to delimit one or more info types on an OM object easily.

What is it? /How it works?

This paper is an attempt to highlight and bring an awareness of usage of SAP Standard report which reduces confusion and saves time. It would be mostly helpful in any SAP HR support project/SAP HR Implementation (Testing phase) Projects.

Concept (Application/Example/Business case & benefit)

In Most of the SAP HR support projects where PA/OM have been implemented, there is always tickets/incidents to modify an existing OM Object something like changing the end-date either by delimiting it or to extend it for a particular period of time.

Even in an implementation project at times there is a need to modify a particular PD object in Mass.

As a consultant we often choose to manually correct such records. But then it gets very hectic and then also ensures if all Relationships are correctly changed. It involves vigorous testing.

I had faced this issue while in a globally implemented project, there was a need of extending/delimiting a particular Orgunit and many positions reporting to this orgunit, similar correction to many such Organizational units.  There was a choice of manual correction/ even trying to create BDC programs for such corrections, while I had come across this Standard SAP program which does its job in a much simpler and at one-time usage.

It was a great welcome in the project. The reason for choosing this topic is to bring awareness among SAP HR consultants in usage of this Program which can be easily used for delimiting/extending an Object and its relationships on any chosen date.

Report RHGRENZ*

RHGRENZ0	Delimit IT1000 and related 1001s. Program will delete any 1001 infotypes whose start date is after the delimit date.
RHGRENZ1	Extend the end date on delimited records. Very useful when you delimit a bunch of records incorrectly, and need to change the end date.
RHGRENZ2	Delimit IT1001 only.
RHGRENZ4	Set New End Date
