I like to share my observations with the HR transformation into the integrated real-time SAP solutions especially by the deeper dive into the Cloud and Shared Services Center model. In this entry I like to focus on the similarity to ERP systems.
In fact HR is “formally” a part of ERP systems. So far HR implementations were only peripheries of the big ERP projects - mainly only about some HR administration and payroll. Now I see a dynamically growing demand for HR focusing implementations being de facto complete HR transformation from a very traditionally leaded HR administration into an integrated real time HR transactional and holistic solution. After about twenty years of ERP revolution we can now observe a similar phenomenon in HR area. By the way: as HR area has been less digitally matured so far, the jump into digital proficiency may be very brave even from paper and e-mail solutions into the Cloud and SSC.
I am observing very similar behaviors by the HR transformations like I’ve experienced by many ERP projects. That is especially visible in the area of introducing a change. Similarly to the “traditional” ERP systems, the HR transformation automates many routine activities and shifts the work to the point of event. As in ERP the postings of documents were shifted from Finance to Logistics departments, the HR transformation shifts a part of the HR work to line managers and even single employees.
I see the HR transformations enabled by the newest digital technology from SAP very positive for all stakeholders and very humanistic. That will be topic of my next entry. I am very interested for your experiences - please do not hesitate to share them! You still can earn point answering my query:
