In this blog, I want present a main difference between APO versus SAP S/4 HANA


BACKGROUND:




Recently, I took a part in one interview with a customer from Poland ( due to war in my native Ukraine a lot of companies have frozen SAP projects), and during the conversation, I was asked about the difference between PP/DS in APO and SAP S/4 HANA. After that meeting, I spend a lot of time investigating this topic. Here I published my review.



BUSINESS CASE:




Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PPDS) is the production planning part of SAP APO that is now integrated into SAP S/4HANA from 1610-on-premise. The migration of PP/DS to SAP S/4HANA comes with simplifications in CIF infrastructure for the master. Since 1610- on-premise, PP/DS functionality in SAP S/4 HANA is developing and the next releases come with some upgrades and improvements of functionalities.
