SAP Innovation and Optimization Pathfinder for SAP ERP


Making the first move when planning your transformation journey is not a simple task. How challenging can it be to jump in a quest for answers for thousands of questions and options that pops to your mind every time you read about a new product, service, digital strategy or transformation advice? You know that SAP has made available hundreds of enhancements, SAP Fiori Apps, a new Digital Core (SAP S/4HANA), cloud offerings and a vast support and services portfolio.

Getting the most out of what you have today while preparing for your digital transformation is a great way to start. So, imagine how good can it be to get a personalized set of recommendations for leveraging the capabilities of your SAP ERP system based on how it is being currently used in your organization, even more, what about getting insights of how leaders on your industry are digitizing their business.

So this is exactly the approach taken by the SAP Innovation and Optimization Pathfinder (or just SAP Pathfinder). This report will give you the right directions for getting the most value out of your SAP ERP System based on the usage and performance data from your current production environment and insights from SAP Benchmarking program. SAP Pathfinder provides you with a set of customer-specific insights for bringing innovation and improvement potentials into your projects and future plans from a Business and IT perspective.

The SAP Pathfinder is an interactive easy-to-use report which depicts a series of recommendations to optimize SAP Solutions from a LOB and IT perspective. As its own name suggests, it helps you finding the right path across the vast number of available innovations and services from SAP portfolio straight to your mailbox.

The report findings come in an executive level presentation format encompassing relevant Functional Enhancements, SAP Fiori Simplified UX, SAP Cloud Extensions and SAP S/4HANA Simplified Business Scenarios, this last one focused on the business areas that could be simplified or improved with SAP S/4HANA, the SAP Next-Generation ERP. The Pathfinder report contains a summary of various other tools which are presented here as well. The SAP Fiori Apps Reference Library, the SAP Innovation Discovery, the Business Scenario Recommendations for SAP S/4HANA.

The Pathfinder report uses Business Key Figures (obtained through Enhanced Early Watch Alert (EWA)) that provides you with Top business and IT Improvement recommendations and benchmarks comparing your organization against your peers. This is an especially useful feature for building up project business cases as it points out the business goals with improvement potential, the negative impact those figures can have on your business as well as the related value drivers for each business area.

You must submit their last month’s transaction productive SAP ERP system workload data (ST03N) and latest enhanced SAP EarlyWatch alert with business key figures. In case you haven’t activated the enhanced EWA you can follow the instructions provided in this practical guide. It typically takes between 30 minutes and two hours of effort to prepare the required input.
