Until version IPC 4.0, you could "download" IPC and install it in your local server / laptop. IPC 4.0 and earlier run as Java application. With little configuration it can be "linked" to a CRM backend and serve as an IPC server.

In the current design, IPC no longer works in an external Java Virtual Machine (JVM). In simple terms, you no longer have to "download" and run IPC as a Java application. Instead, it is now a part of what SAP calls - Application Platform or AP 7.00 (for short). It runs in Virtual Machine Containers, which are SAP's little JVMs designed to handle Java applications within the ABAP kernel. Bottomline, you don't have to worry about the old IPC java application. It is all a part of the AP.

Usually there is no separate licence for the Pricing, Configuration and Tax engines that come with AP.

If you intend to "connect" to NWDS for the purpose of developing the IPC user exits, yes you could "connect" - whatever it means to you. For more details on the IPC user exit development, refer to relevant user guide available in the SAP Note

For IPC 4.0 and below, refer to this [IPC - Technical Consulting Tips|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/107adc1a-0501-0010-de8e-973e0fb4049b] document in the SDN.

For AP 7.00 Userexit development - see [SAP Note 809820 - Userexit concept for pricing|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/809820] - Contains "all" you need to develop your IPC java exits.

Hello Anthony..

Sorry to quote from one of your replies - "open new thread instead"

And NEVER AGAIN ASK FOR FILES TO BE SENT TO YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESSES - from anybody in SDN. Read the forum guidelines.
