How to fetch key user tool field values in ABSL added thru adaptation tool (KUT) in C4C?

kut-issue.pngHi,

We created a new field in sales Order -> Product in C4C thru the adaptation tool (KUT). And also added list of possible values to that field in C4C (PFA) thru adaptation tool.

Now, I want to fetch the list of values of that field into ABSL.

Please suggest me how to fetch the data.

Rgs,

Chandra

Hi Chandra,

You can Fetch Field By creating "CustomerObjectReferences.ref" object it will give you list of KUT field ->select the check box to use it in your ABSL coding.

Thanks,

Thanks Pablo. References to Customer-Specific Fields.REF is already exist.

Yes, the base requirement of your question and main are similar :). But no response on them from anybody. lets wait for few more days.

Hi Chandra,

if you want to fetch the all the possible value of the code list added via KUT into ABSL then it is not possible.

At the max, You can access the current value of the extension field into ABSL Script via the method mentioned by Pablo.

Thanks

Hello Chandra,

The code list created in the Adaptation Mode are in a complete different (higher) layer than the PDI Solution.
So this will never be possible. 😞

It is even a risky trick referencing KUT Extension Fields in the lower layer of a PDI Solution.

Hi horst.schaude ,

We have several KUT lists on Ticket Root and had no problem on getting the access to them in PDI.

Of course - we are only using to access the current value or set a value to the KUT filed. ( & not reading the list as such).

Is your comment above Generic or specific to Chandra's issue ?

if Generic - What you mean by Lower layer of PDI solution ?

Thanks,

Suchita

Hello Suchita,

The comment is - unfortunately - a general one. 😞

The layer model looks like

- Top most layer: Customer / Key User Tool (KUT)
- Below: PDI solution(s), the solutions themselves are side-by-side
- Below: Globalization (adapt to the local requirements)
- Below: SAP delivery

So, if you are in PDI something from "above" (= Customer) is not really available. The referencing mechanism makes that "somehow" possible. For example a "Code List" data type from KUT is a String in PDI.

Therefore this requirement is not possible in general.

Sorry,
. Horst

Hi Chandra,

there is a component called "References to Customer-Specific Fields".

You can add it via Developer Desktop > Solution Explorer > Add New Item > References to Customer-Specific Fields.

If I remember it correctly you can then choose from a list which custom fields you want use within your Business App. Once you got that activated, you should be able to access it the field(s) via ABSL.

Regarding access to the respective value-list: I recently raised the same question and would also be highly interested in how to get access to that enum in ABSL...

Best,
Pablo
