I have read many articles but still something is not clear. What kind of processes should be implemented on R3 and which should be in R3. For example, is it possible that sales process could (from sales order to billing) present in both R3 and CRM? What which other processes overlapping is possible? Please give some real examples
And thank you a lot in advance!!!!
The business process depends on client requirements.SAP CRM could create a Sales Order and the billing happens in R3.This holds good where the R3 used as Back end (such as SD,MM,FICO modules implemented at the client site). But,SAP CRM could be implemented just as a Standalone application. In this case, sales order process, billing, pricing, happens in CRM integrated with other non SAP applications.
Pricing is one area where CRM has more functionality to adapt to web environment.IPC pricing engine which has Java based functionality helps the client to implement Internet Sales application,IC web client based CIC(Call center) applications.
R3 system also has pricing but the functionality has few constraints for Web based application.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Please find the following scanario.
It is also depends on which is the leading system.
Example:You can create the order in CRM and replicate that order from CRM to R/3.
Create a Delivery in R/3 or APO.(It is not possible to deliver the material in CRM).
Once the delivery is happen the status is updated in CRM.
It is possible to create invoice either in CRM or R/3.(It is done through the item catagory configuration setting).
It is not possible to create invoice for both R/3 and CRM for same document type.
