Data migration automation

Hi pros,

How can we migrate Individual Customers and Service requests not manually but automatically?

Standart migration tool takes about 2 hours to load 10 000 records. We have to load 450 000 individual customers and 1 800 000 service requests, so we woun't be able to do it by hand.

Best regards,

Hi,

you can use Data Workbench functionality to import Individual Customers.

The steps:-,

  1. Go to Data Workbench work center
  2. Select Import
  3. In the "Select an Object" section search for "Individual Customer"
  4. Select "Download CSV file" link.
  5. Enter the values
  6. In the Import Screen, Select "Next" option (right side bottom cornor)
  7. Upload the updated CSV file and complete the upload.
  8. Now, go to Monitor view and check the status of the uploaded file.

Hi @Suresh_Babu_Mula,

Thank you for your reply.

1. Is it possible to load multiple phone numbers for one client that way?

2. Is there a record limit you can load this way?

Hi

There is no limit as such reasonable it should be 50 k.

and yes you can add extension fields to CSV, You can refer to the SAP Cloud Applications Studio Help in the Cloud Applications Studio tool. You can navigate to the help by using the following path:

Developer Desktop -> Extensibility -> Process Extension Scenarios

Hi again,

Just one last question. How can I migrate a customer with several telephone numbers through CSV? Should I add an extra line in the file and keep just one phone number per line?

Best regards,

Hi ,

I followed the steps from the artilcle

But I only can see the sdk fields in xml template, not in csv one. How can I fix that?

Hi Nadezhda,

I think once sdk fields are created XML template, you can save the .xml file as .csv.

The sdk fields should now available in CSV template.

The above blog is more specific for migration templates.

If this does not work please also raise this question for Mithun in the blog.
