Copy only transactional data from PRD to a TST tenant

Hello Experts,

we have a request from a customer that wants to refresh their test tenant with production data.

But only the master data and transactional data, no configuration or integration setup.

How can this be achieved?

Thank you for your support.

Regards,

Eduardo

Hi Eduardo,

I would propose a tenant refresh, where the data from production is moved to test. URL and integration settings remain un changed.

https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_CLOUD_FOR_CUSTOMER/fd27ff031b2d45c7b50389fdf25d012e/0061057016e5403784...

If there are still differences with regards to configuration etc. you might need to do a change project merge and some transports first as the system refresh will be imply a full copy of the source tenant (production).

Will the backend system also be refreshed?

What is the exactly need from your customer with regards to 'just wanting the master and transactional data' to be copied into the test environment and not configuration?

If only (recent) data is requested on test for example for training purposes, you also might want to consider some data migration with the data workbench.

Hi Marie,

thank you for the reply.

The need of only the master and transactional data is that we would like to scope Machine Learning and Analytics.

For machine learning lots of or test data is not really good for learning and adjusting the model.

Regarding Analytics the same issue can be said.

Using data migration will take a great effort and time consuming.

About the backend is refreshed occasionally, it will not make a big part for the refresh since there's no big integration. Everything sent to the backend is triggered from C4C and not the other way.

But you're saying that with a refresh we would not require to change all the endpoints for the integration?

Hi,

There might be some minor things to do with regards to the integration, but as you have only one direction C4C > backend it will be done fast.
