This blog series here is intended to offer some hands-on experiences when creating a Dashboard with drill-down/navigation possibilities. Based on a specific example with 3 report views some additional background information is explained via additional blogs, which contain some important detailed information regarding features, functions and usability.
This view is based on the standard report ‘Opportunity Analysis’. The opportunities and their Expected Value are displayed and sorted by the expected sales value.
Report View 3: Sales Quotes by selected account
The last report view is based on the standard report ‘Quote by Account’ and displays all quotes with their net value.
Please note, that up to now there is no dependency available between those 3 report views. The dependencies are maintained during the creation of the Dashboard.
Create a Dashboard as a key user
To create a Dashboard navigate to the work center ‘Dashboard’ and click on the icon ‘Add new Dashboard’. This will start the 6 step wizard which guides you through the creation process. In case you have enabled Role Based Analytics you can assign a dashboard to the various roles.
Step 1 contains some basic information like the Name and the Description of the Dashboard.
In Step 2 you have to select the sources of your Dashboards. Sources are always report views. In the screenshot below you can see our 3 report views which we have created before.
