Product Catalog being changed on publication of promotion (6.3)

Hi All

Has anyone had the below issue and can reproduce it?

Hybris 6.3 New promotions engine free gift promotion apparel store

1. Create two additional versions of the apparel catalog so you have 4 versions in total

2. Create promotion, targetting the product active version of the catalog (for example summer 2017)

3. Save the promotion

4. Publish the promotion

5. Notice that the product on the promotion has now changed to the apparel staged catalog, so the promotion never triggers.

This may be a promotions issue in the core platform, but i'd like to understand if i'm doing anything wrong.

This is a minor bug but its effect can be ignored because promotions are currently not catalog aware. This means you can use any catalog version of the product/category when you create the promotion and it will have the same effect.

We have multiple catalog with the same product id 's. when we wanted to apply the promotion to one Catalog, it is being applied to all Catalogs. I understood that its because promotions are catalog aware. what is the best way to achieve the requirement (to be applied to selected catalog).?

I would appreciate your quick reply.this(making the Promotion to be Catalog Aware) is one of major road blocks for going forward.

We added the ability to deploy promotions to a specific catalog version in 6.4. This would be the way to address it going forward.

If you need a bug to be fixed with 6.3, please create a product support ticket.

Hi ,

We are using Hybris 6.4 version and facing the same issue where product catalog is changed after publication and promotion is evaluated irrespective of catalog. Currently we have one DroolsRuleEngineContext which is mapped to all product catalogs, do we need to setup multiple DroolsRuleEngineContext for each catalog? We did not find any specific information related to setup catalog aware promotions in 6.4 release notes so would be helpful if you can point where information to setup catalog aware promotions can be referred.
