Multi Value Field in SAP Marketing Cloud

Hello Community,

We have a Multi Code List Value in SAP C4C, and we want to replicate this field to SAP MC.

However, there is no such type for custom field: we can choose only single value in the code list. Multiple values select is not supported.

I have 2 Questions:

1. Do you have any idea or a workaround to have all the values in MC?
2. If we create a Text Field Custom Field in MC and put all the values from C4C there with comma as a separator. Do you have any idea how to do it in CPI?

Hi Nadir,

unfortunately you're right and there's no field type for that case in SAP Marketing Cloud. You could maybe use "Marketing Attributes" if it fits to your needs. I think this is the only field in standard which you can use for that if it isn't already used for other cases.

We did the same with data coming from another system, but in that case we used our own tool for mapping the data from multiple fields into that one Custom Field.

I'm not an CPI expert but I will ask one of our team members and come back to you.

I asked my colleague and that's what he told me how to do. Just drag&drop the both source fields into the target field and use the Concatenate building block.

We will see if we can use Marketing Attributes in our scenario but I doubt it.

Thanks for the "Concat" in CPI but finally we are already getting this format from C4C.

Hello guys,

I have a similiar issue, but the other way around. We are replicating Leads via Campaign Action with different Item of Interests. But unfortunately, only the first entry is shown in the a multi value custom field in C4C.

I have added the other entries manually in C4C to see with Postman that these entries are seperated via comma.

Now, my question is, if there is any function/node expression in CPI which seperates the entries to set them all correctly.

Will be glad for any suggestions.

Hi scapin0. As Tobias mentioned, you can use Marketing Attributes. The only API I found to import that entity is the CUAN_BUSINESS_PARTNER_IMPORT_SRV. You can check the documentation here.

Another option is to use Custom Business Objects (CBO) because you can create a 1-to-many relationship and have multiple instances of a CBO related to the same interaction contact.

Here is the documentation of how to create a CBO and how to consume the API.

Multivalues Customer Code List is not possible in SMC.

As Tobias suggested, you can use Marketing Attributes as workaround.
