Dear,
I have a question regarding suppression rules for monthly newsletters.
My case:
- I create an email campaign with a dynamic target group.
- I link a newsletter with a defined communication category for which the limitation is set to 1 email per 30 days.
- I have set my campaign on a recurrence of an hour, so every hour will be checked if my target group was updated and new members will receive the newsletter.
However, to me the limitation in the communication category should limit the sending to the already existing members. But, it is sending out the newsletter to the existing members every hour. There is no exclusion or blocking based on the communication limit.
Did I misunderstand?
So, I was looking to intervene with suppression rules and found similar queries from other members without clear response.
First of all, shouldn't the communication limit be the first filter?
And, does anyone know how to model the suppression rule based on date format? "If email received in the current month, remove".
Or is below the only option?
Thank you for your guidance,
Kind regards,
Steve
You are saying that a campaign, which is triggered every hour is sending out an email, which have a communication category assigned with a limit to send 1 email in 30 days, is ignoring this limit?

Dear,
yes, I found the mistake. I did set the comm.category in the campaign, but apparently forgot to set it in the settings of the newsletter itself. Subscription and limits are then enabled. Now it works fine.
Grtz,
Steve
