Master Group Creation Procedure

Hi,

I want to know the procedure to create Master Groups.

I want to use Master Groups to be able to segment on Relationships.

I am following the procedure as described below:

1. Open an existing Target Group

2. Right click --> Create Master Group from Target Group

On doing this, i get a message saying: Master group creation of '[Demo_Interpack_3].[Home use Wood Pellets]' successfully completed with report 'FROM TARGET GROUP'

3. After this if i go to "Maintain Master Groups"

- but here i am unable to search for the Master Group that has been just created.

- It does not show any results

Kindly let me know the correct procedure to create the Master Groups.

Hi

To create a master group, use the tcode CRMD_MKTDSEG_MGR or path SAP Easy Menu> Marketing> Segmentation> Marketing Segments> Maintian Master Groups

Here you have the option to create Master Groups from Target Groups

Hi,

Thanks for the answer.

The problem now is as follows:

1. I clicked on "Create Master Group" and then the Master Group Creation page opened

2. Here i can enter the description, Program, BW system

*3. For the Type: There are no values in the dropdown box.

Thus, when i try to save it, i get an error and it asks me to fill in the Type - so i cannot proceed.

Please tell me what this value "Type" is and how can i add it there.

Hi

You need to define your type in the SPRO using the path IMG>CRM>Marketing> Segment Builder> Define Segment Types

Here mention your type and Select the category as Master Group

I can create a Master Group now. I now have a further doubt.

My requirement is such that:

I want to create a Master Group which will allow me to create Target Groups based on Relationships.

For Example: I want a Target Group of all the Marketing Managers of the Companies which produce XYZ product in India.

That is, i want to create a Master Group which will allow me to create a Target Group which will contain only the contact persons (Marketing Managers) who have a relationship with the companies producing XYZ product in India.

So, can you please tell me how i can create such a Master Group based on the Relationship.
