Error as "Telephone number must not contain country code" in SAP CRM Order

Hi SAP Gurus,

While creating the order in SAP CRM 7.0 , i am getting the error as "

"Telephone number must not contain country code".

Please provide the solution at the earliest as this is very urgent.

Hello All

I have the same issue.I checked on the GUI it is the same issue.I don't think genil_bol_browser will resolve issue.

Hi,

I think you all get it wrong. You should go to genil_bol_browser to see the data if it is present there or not. Try using system debugging. If still problem persists ask any other SAP consultant of your office.

Helo, Succhi.

Do you enter a country code for any telephone number you use? Or do you enter any partner with such telephone number which contains country code?

If yes this is a mistake. Correct it. SAP derives country code from the country of the phone number. And considers phone numbers with country codes inside as an error.

Thanks for the info.

I have removed the country code from the telephone number in the SAP CRM BP and saved.

Please suggest how to fix the issue with this error now ,still the error is showing in the CRM order.

If you're talking about existed document then it seems the incorrect phone number has been already copied to the document (to document address) before your changes in BP. So please check the document and correct the number there.

Correct, i have corrected the number in sales document still the error persists.

Please advise how to remove the error?

Did you check all addresses for all partner functions in the document?

Sold-to-party, bill-to-party and so on. Perhaps, incorrect number was transferred to all partner functions where this BP was moved to.

Thanks for the info.

Firstly, i have removed the country code in the BP then in sales order and i have checked all the partners addresses in the sales document as well. Now the error is still showing.

Please suggest how to resolve this?

In IMG of Define countries you  already have a country code defined for telefone and fax.

so if you use SAP to send faxes and you enter the number with country code in customer master then SAP concatenates both the country code from customizing and the entered number and dials then the country code twice.

Example: the customer is in Germany. You are in France.

SAP has in customizing 0049 as country code for Germany.

You enter in customer master as well 0049 plus the number.

SAP dials when faxing 00490049......, this does not make sense. hence you should not enter the country code in the customer master.

You could delete the country code from customizing to get rid of the message. But if you are a global player, then you would have to maintain the telefone and fax number for your customers in your own country as well with country code in customer master. Because, if such customer is used by a sister company in a different country, then SAP has to dial with country code, if you dont maintain that for your local customers, then the faxes from your sister company may not reach this customer as SAP dials then without any country code.

Better follow the message and leave customizing untouched and maintain the numbers in customers without country code. (c)
