Custom sorting characteristic values in Reports

Hi Experts,

I have a requirement to sort the values of a  characteristic  in the client's desired way.

In the above report,I have moved the characteristic Analysis Phase to Columns and sorted the characteristic values using Sort By Description in ascending order.

But the client wants the values to be in the ascending order of "%" given along with the value.

That is, they want the values in the following order

Identify opportunity - 10%             Analyze Opp. - 30%             Present Opp. - 70%              Close - 100%

I tried sorting by Description and sorting by ID in both ascending and descending order.But both didn't serve the purpose.

So I was just wondering whether we can do some custom sort,so that the characteristic values come up in the desired order.

Please let me know whether any custom sort is possible or please suggest some work around for it.

Hi,

If you have only few Analysis Phases then Just create Restricted Key figures for each Phase ( one for Value and one for Count) and arrange Restricted key figures as per your requirement.

If I create Restricted key figures for each case, the column headers will be very long.

for eg:  Identify Opportunity - 10% - Expected Sales Volume

The client wants me to  do word wrap on this text,as it is not readable.Please let me know whether  it is possible.

If not,I was just wondering,is there any way to do custom sort on the analysis phase values.

Hi,

Since C4C does not allow to add an additional attribute to do custom sorting, you may not achieve using sorting function.

May be you can create RKF with short text, if client agree.
