Dear all,
I can't seem to find this info in the hybris marketing documentations.
I'm working with hybris marketing onpremise version 1702.
I have a trigger-based campaign, with a sending delay of 14 days.
I now have a new version of that campaign.
How do I phase out the old campaign while starting the new one?
- If I have both campaigns on "released", the customer would receive two mails and that's not good.
- If I set the old campaign to status "deactivated", will it then stop triggering on new interactions, but continue sending the "pending" delayed messages for the next 14 days? And will the new campaign (also with 14d delay) NOT pick up those older interactions?
The status "deactivated" is not described on the documentation page.
- Is this perhaps the difference between status "deactivated" and status "completed", that deactivated campaigns continue phasing out the pending delayed messages, and if you set it to completed that it completely stops?
Thanks in advance to share some insists on this;
Joyca
Hi Joyca,
Starting with the release in 1705 the buttons have been renamed:
Deactivate / Pause stops the start trigger, but all follow-up actions are still processed.
Complete / Stop closes the complete campaign, no action (also no follow-up action) will be processed anymore.
Answers to your questions:
1)Question: If I set the old campaign status "deactivated", will it then stop triggering on new interactions, but continue sending the "pending" delayed messages for the next 14 days?
2)Question: And will the new campaign (also with 14d delay) NOT pick up those older interactions?
I hope this explains and helps your query. If yes, please mark the question answered 🙂
Thank you.
Best Regards,
Kunal

Thanks Kunal!
Great to see that from 1705 the system also gives pop-ups explaining what the status does in detail. 1702 shows this on "deactivate": "Stop Active Campaign This will cancel all the associated trigger actions. Do you want to proceed?" and this on "complete": "Complete Campaign Are you sure you want to complete this campaign?"
Do you know if you have the possibility to update SAP Help pages? It would be better if the "deactivated" status is also described on the 1702 help pages on the documentation page.

Joyca
Dear Joyca,
We are already into it and it will be updated soon 🙂
Thank you.

Hi Kunal,
Are you sure about the "deactivated" status acting the same as the "paused" status?
We deactivated our campaign yesterday around 13h CEST,
At 9h55 CEST (before deactivation) we still got a log entry of a run exactly 14 days after a triggering interaction (see screenshot, interaction 14 days ago at 7h54 UTC = 9h54 CEST) ,
but today there should have been a new log entry at 14h35 UTC - 16h35 CEST, but there wasn't...
Kr,
Joyca
Thanks Kunal.
So this means that if I want to phase out a trigger-based campaign with a sending delay of 14 days, then I have to do it like this:
If you want to switch the process from campaign A to campaign B at a given point in time T you should let campaign B start at T - 14 days and end campaign A at T. During the period between T - 14 and T both campaigns will collect the same interactions. As campaign A stops at T the interactions of the last 14 days will not trigger the emails of campaign A anymore while campaign B will start to send them. So you have a seamless transition.
Kr,
Joyca
