Bypass Middleware

Hi

Is it possible to fetch the data directly from CRM to R/3 using an RFC bypassing middleware?

You can always access the data in the R/3 from CRM via a RFC call and vice versa.

But why do you want to do this? Using the MW is pretty easy; otherwise you need to set up not only the initial data transfer, but also send the changes automatically. And as soon as you need to access the CRM data not only in the server itself, but i.e. via groupware, mobile or similar, the MW will replicate the data for you automatically.

If you want to turn the MW off, have a look at the best practices guides (see thread "Documentation" on the top of the list) and refer to the CRM standalone scenarios.

Hi

First of all thanks for the response. Actually the idea is to use the middleware but for some custom functionality we need to bypass middleware as it would be too complex to build custom BDocs (if possible).

Why is building custom BDocs complex? If it is extending an existing object just go and use the EEWB and for downloading customizing it is about the same effort.

Have a look at the EEWB documentation to see what you need to do in order to add some more information to i.e. a BP.

Hi Robin,

The answer of your question is Yes. But it is not adviasable because the R/3 and CRM data model are diffrent, Generally we go for this solution if we create the same z tables in both the systems and for which runtime delta is not so important. So if you bypass the MW then the delta will not come to the other system so better use MW.
